As I already mentioned in my post about hyaluronic acid for skin, I believe that hyaluronic acid is the best ingredient for moisturizing the skin. I would recommend it to everyone with dry skin, but it won`t hurt those with other skin types. I presume you would all like to know, which hyaluronic acid serums and creams I find interesting.
1. Derma E Hyaluronic acid cleansing gel, serum, mask, cream, eye cream and toner
There is a whole collection of skin care products with hyaluronic acid from the brand Derma E, which I like a lot. I already tried their hyaluronic acid night cream with which I was very satisfied. I would like to try out their toner, serum and especially their face mask in the future. That`s why I will take a closer look at these 3. I usually buy Derma E products from iHerb, because they are a lot cheaper there. (If you are a first time customer you can use this discount code: EQA996)
Hydrating Serum with Hyaluronic Acid
Water (aqua), glycerin, sodium hyaluronate (hyaluronic acid; Actimoist Bio-1), calcium ascorbate (Ester-C), allantoin, panthenol, alanine, leucine, tyrosine, dimethicone, glycine, valine, ammonium acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP copolymer (Aristoflex), ceteareth 20, xanthan gum, phenoxyethanol, ethylhexylglycerin, potassium sorbate, plumeria blossom fragrance.
This serum contains glycerin and hyaluronic acid. They both act as moisturizers. It also contains vitamin C (antioxidant), allantoin and panthenol (anti-irritant). It is too bad that the product is fragranced, even though the scent is nice.
Price: 21,25 $ = 15 € (60ml)- iHerb
Hyaluronic Hydrating Mist
Water (aqua), organic camellia sinensis (green tea) leaf extract*, hamamelis virginiana (witch hazel) extract, organic aloe barbadensis leaf extract*, panthenol, allantoin, glycerin, calcium ascorbate (Ester-C), sodium hyaluronate (hyaluronic acid; Actimoist Bio-2), polysorbate, phenoxyethanol, ethylhexylglycerin, potassium sorbate, plumeria blossom fragrance.
This toner is full of antioxidants like vitamin C and green tea extract. It has a moisturizing effect because of hyaluronic acid, glycerin and aloe vera extract. It works like anti-irritant as well because of allantoin and panthenol. It is also fragranced with the same sent as the serum.
price: 9,73$= 7€ – iHerb
Hyaluronic Hydrating Mask
Water (aqua), propanediol, kaolin, glycerin, ethylhexyl palmitate, capric/caprylic triglycerides, cetyl alcohol, decyl glucoside, zinc oxide, rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) leaf extract, organic olea europaea (olive) fruit oil*, organic theobroma grandiflorum (cupuacu butter)*, persea gratissima (avocado) oil, organic aloe barbadensis leaf extract*, organic simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) seed oil*, sodium hyaluronate (hyaluronic acid; Actimoist bio-2), tocopheryl acetate (vitamin E), retinyl palmitate (vitamin A), organic chamomilla recutita (matricaria) flower extract*, xanthan gum, potassium cetyl phosphate, hydrated aluminum silicate, glyceryl stearate SE, gluconolactone, polysorbate 60, sodium benzoate, natural and fragrant oils.
I heard a lot of praise about this face mask. The clay in it absorbs poisons and excess oils from the skin. It has a lot of great plant oils in it, antioxidants (vitamin E and A) and some hyaluronic acid.
price: 21,25 $ = 15 € (113g)- iHerb
2. Hydraluron Moisture booster
Hydraluron Moisture booster is an extremely popular product all across the world. Unfortunately we don`t have it here is Slovenia, but I found some on Amazon and eBay.
Water/Aqua/Eau, Propanediol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Ahnfeltia Concinna Extract, Carbomer, Butylene Glycol, Disodium Edta, Sodium Hydroxide, Phenoxyethanol.
If I look at the ingredients, they are nothing special just some hyaluronic acid and algea extract which works as a moisturizer. Anyway there must be something that makes this serum so popular. I just don`t know what it is. It might be the marketing (just joking), it could be that the proportions of individual ingredients are just right.
price: 22 funtov = 26€ (30ml)- Amazon (you can also find it on ebay)
3. Now Solutions
I always look around iHerb when I am looking for a product with a certain ingredient. You can find a lot of good quality products at affordable prices there. That`s how I found the Now Foods- Solutions hyaluronic acid serum and cream. The ingredients look promising.
Now Solutions Hyaluronic Acid Firming Serum:
De-ionized water, aloe vera (aloe barbadensis) leaf gel*, vegetable glycerin, xanthan gum, natural aroma, sodium hyaluronate (hyaluronic acid), green tea extract, algae extract, soluble collagen and cedar bark extract.
The ingredients of this serum look simple yet effective (just the way I like them). It contains hyaluronic acid, glycerin, aloe vera and green tea extract. We know by now that these ingredients work like moisturizers. The only thing that bothers me is that the natural aroma is very high on the ingredients list. I guess natural aroma stands for a mix of essential oils, which I am not a fan off.
Price: 13$ = 9€ (30ml)- iHerb
Now Solutions, Hyaluronic Acid Cream, PM Moisture Renew Formula
De-ionized water, stearic acid (vegetable source), avocado oil, glyceryl stearate, cetyl alcohol, vegetable glycerin, cetearyl alcohol/cetearyl glucoside, palmitic acid ester, vegetable squalane, soy lecithin, natural aroma, glucose/glucose oxidase/lactoperoxidase (natural preservative), cetyl palmitate, shea butter, mango butter, jojoba oil, sodium hyaluronate (hyaluronic acid), potassium sorbate, MSM, L-carnosine, xanthan gum, tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate (vitamin C), d-alpha tocopherol (vitamin E), soluble collagen, grapefruit seed extract and green tea extract.
Once again we find great ingredients like avocado oil, glycerin, sgualen, shea butter, jojoba oil, hyaluronic acid, vitamic C and E etc. But unfortunately there is a natural aroma high on the list again.
price: 12$= 9€ (59ml)- iHerb
4. SkinCeuticals in Cosmetic Skin Solutions Hydra B5 gel:
The ingredients of the Cosmetic Skin Solutions Hydra B5 gel:
Water/Aqua/Eau, Pantothenic Acid (Vitamin B-5), Hyaluronic Acid, Phenoxyethanol.
The ingredients of the SkinCeuticals Hydrating B5 gel:
Water, Glycerin, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium hyaluronate, Calcium panthothenate, Sodium benzoate, Sodium PCA, Disodium EDTA, Urea, Trehalose, Polyquaternium-51, D11130/1
Both products have very similar ingredients. The first one is a bit more simple and only B5 vitamin next to the hyaluronic acid. Besides this two ingredients the other one also contains glycerin. I already tested the first one and worked for me. I would gladly tested out the SkinCeuticals one, if it would not cost twice as much.
Price: SkinCeuticals B5 Gel: 50$-75$= 36- 54€ (30ml)- Amazon.com
Price: Cosmetic Skin Solutions: 30$ = 21 € (30ml)- Amazon.com
5. Balea Aqua Serum
You may not be familiar with this brand, because I believe it is only available only in some central European countries (DM store). This serum only costs 3 € and it works great as a moisturizer.
aqua, glycerin, neopentyl glycol diheptanoate, xylitylglucoside, panthenol, tocopheryl acetate, hydroxyethyl acrylate/sodium acryloyldimethyltaurate copolymer, sodium hyaluronate, anhydro xylitol, xylitol, ethylhexylglycerin, phenoxyethanol, parfum.
As you can see, it contains glycerin and of course hyaluronic acid (moisturizers); panthenol that soothes the skin, and some vitamin E, that works like an antioxidant. In the end of the ingredient list, we can find perfume. I don`t feel this perfume on my skin (my skin usually reacts with redness) so I guess they added just a tiny bit.
Price: 3 € (30ml)
6. The Original Hyaluronic Acid Serum 100% Pure
Water, Sodium Hyaluronate (1%; 100% pure), Benzylalcohol, Dehydroacetic Acid.
This serum is basically pure water with 1% of hyaluronic acid and some preservatives. It is true that it contains the harmful alcohol Benzylalcohol but there is less than 1% of it. I think that it shouldn`t cause any troubles.
Price: 9$ = 6,50 € (30ml) – Amazon.com
For now I am staying with my Balea Aqua serum, but I am really tempted by Hydraluron Moisture boost serum. I would also like to do a comparison between SkinCeuticals and Cosmetic Skin Solutions B5 gel. Btw: I just ordered the Derma E toner via iHerb where it is ridiculously low priced.
