Estee Lauder advanced night repair serum review

Estee Lauder Advanced Night repair serum

Estee Lauder Advanced night repair serum is a bit brown colored and it smells funny, but I quite like the smell :). It absorbs really quickly but it won`t be enough on its own. You must use a cream or oil after this serum. I use a mixture of argan and rosehip oil after this serum. I use it for night skin care routine, because of retinyl palmitate (you shouldn`t use any form of vit. A and UV filters together). Don`t expect miracles after a month of use. This serum can`t fix all the damage from your past, but it can prevent the future ones. I noted two things after a month of use: my skin is calm and not so red anymore and my pores are smaller.

So let`s see the ingredients shall we?

Water,Bifida Ferment Lysate,Methylgluceth-20,Peg-75,Butylene Glycol,Bis-Peg-18 Methyl Ether Dimethyl Silane,Arabidopsis Thaliana Extract,Tripeptide-32,Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate,Lactobacillus Ferment,Cola Acuminata Extract,Retinyl Palmitate,Pantethine,Caffeine,Glycereth-26,Sodium Rna,Squalane,Oleth-3 Phosphate,Oleth-3,Oleth-5,Bisabolol,Choleth-24,Ceteth-24,Hydrogenated Lecithin,Anthemis Nobilis,Sodium Hyaluronate,Tocopheryl Acetate,Lecithin,Xanthan Gum,Tea-Carbomer,Trisodium Edta,Bht,Phenoxyethanol,Methylparaben,Benzyl Alcohol,Green 5,Yellow 5,Red 4.

Bifida Ferment Lysate: A probiotic bacteria for which it is claimed that it can repair DNA damage. This claims are not proven, but there was some research that has shown that this probiotic bacteria keeps skin microflora in good condition, and helps with eczemas, dermatitis and redness.

Cola Acuminata (Kola) Extract: It contains caffeine which clamps the skin and works like adstringens.

Retinyl Palmitate: Vitamin A derivative, known for it`s anti-aging effects. Because of this ingredient I use this serum only for night time care.

Pantethine: Form of Vitamin B5, which can reduce acne.

Caffeine: Caffeine is very anti-inflammatory and it is a powerful antioxidant.

Sodium RNA: repairs the skin.

Bisabolol: Anti-irritating.

Anthemis Nobilis (Chamomile): antiseptic.

Sodium Hyaluronate : moisturizer

Tocopheryl Acetate: Vitamin E derivative, which works antioxidant and anti-aging.

Arabidopsis Thaliana Extract: For this extract it is said, that it contains enzymes which repair DNA damage, it is good for treating photo damaged skin and it can increase collagen production. Once again nothing is proven here.

Tripeptide-32: A polypeptide that activates some genes in keratinocytes which are responsible for DNA repair. The question here is if this ingredient can penetrate in to DNA, where all this is happening.

Lactobacillus Ferment: Enzyme known by DNA repairing.

At the end there are some unnecessary colors, and somewhere in between it all there is one UV filter which is not there to protect our skin, but to protect the product. There is no proof that all these ingredients works, but this serum has had a LOT of loyal users around the world for 30 years and apparently something must be working. Well at least vitamins A, E and caffeine. I like this serum a lot and it`s staying in my night skin care routine.

I bought this serum at a sale, so I paid 40 euros for 30ml and not 66 euros. It really is very expensive but it is worth every penny. I will repurchase it, but in the 50ml version and I will look on Amazon, because there I can get it for much less.
